In 1968, the American toymaker Mattel introduced Hot Wheels, which are the miniature cars that have become so popular until today, per Definitions. Mattel is also the creator behind the success of Barbie.

Back then, Hot Wheels is the main competitor of another miniature toy company, Matchbox. That was until Mattel acquired it from Tyco Toys in 1997.

With the said acquisition as well as the popularity of the brand, numerous vehicle companies have given Mattel permission to produce a miniature version of their cars. 

Despite the fact that it was initially created for children, these miniature toy cars have grown in popularity among adult collectors who are now able to purchase the limited-edition versions.

Coolest Hot Wheels Tracks You Can Find on YouTube

In relation to this, YouTube has become the go-to platform for collectors and Hot Wheels enthusiasts who enjoy showcasing their different miniature cars and several tracks. 

For instance, YouTuber Backyard Racing has created numerous Hot Wheel track videos. The said YouTube account has more than 45,000 subscribers.

One of its videos titled "Hot Wheels Backyard Mega Track with Fence Ride (Boosted)" accumulated more than 3 million views, above 44,000 likes, and approximately 1,100 comments.

In the video, which runs for more than four minutes, the creator claims that this is one of the largest Hot Wheels tracks ever created. The YouTube also explained that it contains 30 boosters launching the toy car down 2,000 feet of track through the land, sky, and underwater.

In addition to this, Backyard Racing also used wood, ladders, inflatable pools, PVC tubing, blocks, plastic container tubs, cardboard boxes, pool noodles, and a range of Hot Wheels items.

This set-up took four months to complete. Moreover, they also clarified that there was a lot of troubleshooting and backyard engineering for the Hot Wheels track to operate.

The team behind this added that the body of the GoPro wouldn't fit through the boosters at first, and all of the 90-degree turns they bought were too steep. 

Apart from this Hot Wheels track, 5MadMovieMakers on YouTube also posted a video showing a lengthy track.

The YouTuber explained that "featuring 6 "launches", this track was filmed in 13 sections and stitched together with cuts at turns, tunnels, and boosts to appear as one take."

This video accumulated more than 53 million views, more than 290,000 likes, and above 6,000 comments.

To commemorate Hot Wheels' 40th anniversary, a diamond-encrusted racer was created.

According to Mattel, the $140,000 custom-made jeweled automobile has over 2,700 diamonds in total, weighing about 23 carats in total weight.

The car is made of 18-karat white gold and is covered in tiny pave-set brilliant blue diamonds, which resemble the Hot Wheels Spectraflame blue paint.
