Verizon HTC One passes through the FCC

Verizon customers waiting for the HTC One are in for some good news: the Verizon  version of the smartphone just passed through the FCC.

When HTC announced the HTC One and its carrier partners for the smartphone, Verizon was noticeably absent. As AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile released the handset, it became clear that it was turning out to be one of the best smartphones to be released this year. Verizon customers soon started to make it clear that they wanted their carrier to offer the popular smartphone as well and they even made online petitions in hopes of being heard. The plan worked and the carrier announced that it would make the HTC One available for its customers later this summer.

It appears that Verizon HTC One fans might not have a long wait, as the smartphone has just passed through the FCC. The filing reveals the smartphone's 4G LTE radio supports band 13, which is the band the carrier's LTE network runs on. The documents also indicate support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.

Leaked images of the smartphone have recently appeared, showing that it will retain the minimal carrier branding found on the AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile variants. The Verizon HTC One will feature an anodized aluminum unibody enclosure and a 4.7-inch SuperLCD 3 Full HD (1080p) display with a pixel density of 468 pixels per inch (ppi). It be powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5, include 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, HTC UltraPixel rear camera with dedicated HTC ImageChip, 88-degree wide-angle lens with HDR capability front camera, the ability to record 1080p video on front and rear cameras, dual front stereo speakers with HTC BoomSound with built-in amplifiers, 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (near field communications),  infrared universal remote control and a 2,300mAh battery.

Verizon has not indicated any exact release date or pricing for the upcoming smartphone. It has only confirmed the HTC One will be available later this summer, and the carrier will probably keep the price in the same area of AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
