[LEAK] AMD Radeon 7000 Series Should Scare NVIDIA

If you love playing video games at their highest graphics settings without tightening your belt, then AMD has your back if the leaks about its upcoming GPUs hold the proverbial water.

Info from prominent leaker Moore's Law Is Dead stated that the NAVI 33 GPU of the upcoming AMD Radeon 7000 Series would be far more efficient and perform like the best GPUs the market currently has for far less.

The new mid-range budget GPUs will allegedly be available later this year, per Notebook Check.

AMD Radeon 7000 Series Leak Details

According to Moore's Law Is Dead's video, which was posted on April 9, the NAVI 33 GPU may have a monolithic 6nm die within 360-460 square millimeters, a TDP of 180-230W, 128MB of Infinity Cache, a 5.0 x8 PCIe connection, a be paired with 8GB of GDDR6 on a 128-bit bus.

The NAVI 33 GPU is also capable of ray tracing and is expected to be a much larger increase than the Rasterization increase.

PC Invasion reports that these specifications could mean that the GPU is a Radeon 7700 XT graphics card that has a similar gaming performance to AMD's current top GPU, the 6900 XT. However, with an 8GB GDDR6 memory capacity, the GPU could only work to 1080p and 1440p resolutions, with the card being expected to fare badly if used for a 4K resolution display.

Simply put, you can expect that the NAVI 33 GPU will work great in 1080 and should perform similarly to the 6900 XT when it comes to 1440p resolutions. However, don't expect a stellar performance when you use a 4K resolution.

Additionally, the 8GB memory capacity is an intentional design decision to keep the GPU's price as low as possible for it to be a mid-range, budget-friendly card.

Moore's Law Is Dead's sources also stated that they don't believe the PCIe 5.0 x8 won't be a big issue if AMD installs it to the NAVI 33 GPU.

The YouTuber also mentioned that it is worth noting that the upcoming AMD GPU is still "big" for a mid-range AMD die. However, Moore's Law Is Dead's sources told him that AMD is intentionally shifting discrete GPU dies to a tier higher this generation, following the PC Gaming market becoming more enthusiast-focused, which could bring the price down for accelerated processing units.

Furthermore, Moore's Law Is Dead speculated that the bill of materials cost for the new AMD GPU could be comparable to Navi 22's, if not lower, which brings the manufacturer's suggested retail price between 399 dollars to 499 dollars.

AMD Radeon 7000 Series Release Date and Other Details

Notebook Check reported that AMD constructed its RX 7000 and Ryzen 7000 series based on RDNA 3 and Zen 4 architectures, respectively. The company was also reported to be launching the RX 7000 series as three separate GPUs, which are the Navi 31, Navi 32, and Navi 33 GPUs.

Twitter user and known leaker Greymon55 also teased that the AMD RX 7000 GPUs could outperform the RX 6900 XT in a tweet on March 15, which gives Moore's Law Is Dead credibility.

The Navi 33 GPU is expected to be released later this year.
