Disney has revealed that an issue with its Disney+ platform has resulted in the loss of episodes for a number of popular shows.

But apparently, this is not the first time such a problem occurred.

Fan-Favorite Shows Are Missing Episodes Due to a Disney+ Glitch

The problems were first reported by a blog What's On Disney+, which reported that some members of Disney Plus Facebook group noticed that some episodes of their favorite titles were missing.

Some members of the Facebook group believed it was a technical issue, while others speculated that Disney was intending to relocate the shows with missing episodes to Hulu.

According to the blog, the following are some of the affected titles:

  • "Ultimate Spider-Man"

  • "Agent Carter"

  • "Hannah Montana"

  • "Ducktales"

  • "Once Upon A Time"

  • "X-Men And The Wolverine"

  • "Lab Rats Elite Force"

  • "Marvel Rising"

  • "Big City Greens"

  • "The Proud Family"

  • "Austin & Ally"

  • "Big Hero 6"

  • "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse"

  • "The Owl House"

  • "The Wizards Of Waverley Place"

  • "Bizaardvark"

  • And many more

Some Disney+ shows appeared to be more full than others, while others had large chunks of episodes that had vanished into thin air.

According to TechCrunch, the most notable is "Agent Carter," which has only four episodes from season one available on the service. Season three of "Austin & Ally" only has two episodes.

These missing episodes can still be found on Disney+ in other countries, such as the U.K., indicating that they haven't been totally deleted.

On the other hand, the "purge" is an unexpected glitch that Disney is striving to resolve, The Verge reported.

Some episodes appear to be slowly returning, but this is expected to be a lengthy process, and it may be some time before the matter is totally rectified. 9to5mac mentioned that it's unknown at this point what caused these episodes to vanish in the first place.

Disney says it's working to fix the problem.

This Is Not the First Time Disney+ Faced a Problem

Subscribers to Disney+ have previously reported missing episodes. Two episodes of the Australian animated series "Bluey," as well as 20 shorts, were missing from the service on March 28.

TechCrunch also reported that users earlier discovered that "TaleSpin" was missing two episodes, which was odd given that the site already had 63 episodes.  "Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles" saw episodes disappear, and "The Replacements" was missing a whole season. The Bloopers episode of the web series "Just Roll With It" was reportedly missing. Episodes of "The Simpsons," "Andi Mack," and "The Muppets," among others, were also missing.

An episode of "Darkwing Duck" is allegedly unavailable in the U.S., but is available in Thailand and Malaysia.

When you consider previous cases where altered copies of Marvel Netflix shows were swapped in for some of the shows before they were corrected, Disney+ has a track record of these oddities. As per The Verge, "Hot Shots" and "Hot Shots Part Deux" were streamed for a few days before being pulled from Disney+ U.S. despite the updated parental controls.
