LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - NOVEMBER 19: Apple CEO Tim Cook attends the grand opening event of the new Apple store at The Grove on November 19, 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

The board traditionally meets at least four times a year. So, it appears that the execs of the iPhone maker took the chance to preview one of its upcoming products.

If the AR/VR headset hits the shelves anytime soon, it would be the first new product lineup that the Cook-led firm debuts for the past couple of years.

According to a recent report by Protocol, the last time that the Cupertino firm launched a new product category was when it first introduced the Apple Watch way back in 2015. That said, the upcoming headset is set to make history, at least for its firm.

Apple AR/VR Headset: Launching Soon?

It is worth noting that the board members of the tech giant reportedly first got their hands on the prototype of the headset as early as 2016.

Despite that, a couple of years have passed already, and Apple has yet to launch its AR/VR device.

But what sets the latest preview apart is that reports are now saying that its release could be sometime in 2023. Not to mention that sources claim that development is making significant progress.
