Pokémon Go Will Bring Back Multiple Ultra Unlocks

According to Gamespot, Niantic is bringing back Ultra Unlocks, a bonus that can be acquired for forthcoming events by completing Global Challenges with other players.

The gaming company is introducing several of these Ultra Unlocks for a handful of future events for the first time, with challenges accessible at the four upcoming Pokémon Go Fest events.

The first opportunity to earn an Ultra Unlock bonus is during the global Pokémon Go Fest ticketed event this weekend.

Players won't know what the Ultra Unlock benefits are until they're really unlocked, with Niantic promising to provide details shortly after each Pokémon Go Fest event concludes.

Meanwhile, players do not need to purchase a ticket to participate in the Ultra Unlock effort; the Global Challenge Arena will be open to all players for the remainder of the event on June 5, after which it will be closed to ticket holders.

It is also worth noting that an Ultra Unlock event will be added to the next Adventure Week if trainers globally accomplish 20 Global Challenges over the two-day event.

Pokémon Go Fest 2022

As previously reported, Niantic has revealed that Pokémon Go Fest 2022 will be held in Seattle, Washington from July 22 to 24.

The upcoming event will be held in both Seattle Center Park and the city of Seattle, with each day split into two sessions at each location.

Because of the two sites, ticketing is a little more complicated than it is for most Pokémon Go Fest events. Trainers can opt for a morning or afternoon session, in which players spend the first part of the day in the park and the second half in the city.

There will also be Pokémon Go Fest in Berlin and Sapporo, with more destinations to be announced soon.

New Adventure Week Will Be Introduced

A separate Gamespot report mentioned that Adventure Week is back for 2022, with a week of Rock-type and Fossil Pokémon to start off the brand-new Season of Pokémon Go. The event will start on Tuesday, June 7 at 10 a.m. local time and run until Sunday, June 12 at 8 p.m.

Tyrunt and Amaura, the two fossil Pokémon debuted in Pokemon X and Y, are two new Rock-type Pokémon released for the first time in Pokémon Go. Trainers can encounter the new Pokémon by undertaking Field Research tasks or hatch them from 7km Eggs received during the event.

In addition to the new Pokémon, lucky trainers will be able to catch Shiny Tirtouga and Shiny Archen in Pokémon Go for the first time.

Trainers will receive double XP for spinning PokeStops during the length of the event, as well as five times additional XP for spinning a PokeStop for the first time.
