Here are Some of the Coolest Tech Museums You Can Find in the US

One of the best ways to understand and experience just how mind-blowing and cool technology can be is to visit a museum. The thought of a museum might come across as something pretty boring, but we think science and tech museums are clear exceptions.

If you still feel pretty skeptical about that, we have put together a list of some of the coolest science and tech museums you can find in the United States. Here it is:

Computer History Museum (Mountain View, California)

Anyone who loves to nerd on computers should not miss out on the Computer History Museum in California.

"From the heart of Silicon Valley, we share insights gleaned from our research, our events, and our incomparable collection of computing artifacts and oral histories to convene, inform, and empower people to build a better world," the Computer History Museum says on its official website.

As of press time, among the exhibits that visitors can enjoy at the museum are the 5,000-square-foot exhibition called Revolution: The First 2000 Years of Computing and Make Software: Change the World!, which looks into seven applications that have been game changers.

If you are wondering what they are, they include Photoshop, Wikpedia, and even World of Warcraft.

COSI - Center of Science and Industry (Columbus, Ohio)

The Center of Science and Industry, otherwise known as COSI, actually started as an idea "born during a business trip to Chicago in 1957 by Sanford N. (Sandy) Hallock ll, who worked as an account executive for the Byer and Bowman advertising agency," according to the museum's official website. COSI, however, did not open to the public until 1964.

COSI is a paradise for anyone interested in science and technology. Aside from the planetarium and dinosaur gallery, there are also exhibits dedicated to gadgets, the ocean, and the outer space, among others.

Exploratorium (San Francisco, California)

The brainchild of American physicist Frank Oppenheimer, the Exploratorium is one of the must visit destinations in San Francisco for those interested in science and technology.

According to the official website of the Exploratorium, the exhbits you will find here include GALAXY03, an LED galaxy "that visualizes waves of light energy passing through the people below," and Tornado, a simulation of a thunderstorm that has a mini tornado that you can actually disturb.

Aside from its exhibits, the Exploratorium is also home to galleries, including one that experiments with light, bubbles, and mirrors, as well as a gallery devoted to the history, ecology, and geography of the Bay Area.

Museum of Science, Boston (Boston, Massachusetts)

If you find yourself in Boston, the Museum of Science, Boston is a science and technology museum that you will find in the area.

This museum has both temporary and permanent exhibits so you can experience something new with every visit. Included the permanent exhibits are an engineering design workshop and an exhibit that focuses on the inventions that have changed the world.

The Museum of Science, Boston is also home to a planetarium that hosts different shows.
