Riot Games' Valorant

The free-to-play multiplayer game of Riot Games, Valorant, has become a phenomenal success, garnering millions of players.

The Riot Games multiplayer officially came out way back on June 2, 2020, but it already flaunts a player count, which competitively rivals other giant franchises like Call of Duty.

Valorant In-Game Voice Chat

The first-shooter multiplayer title critically needs an in-game voice chat feature to enable its players to strategize with their teammates to bring home the bacon.

But like most multiplayer games these days, Valorant is not immune to unwanted behavior from its players using voice chat.

In fact, as per a news story by Dexerto, multiplayer titles, as much as they are interactively fun, are also plagued with a high dose of disruptive and toxic behaviors from their community of players.

But Riot Games is now attempting to fix the raging toxicity problem in its multiplayer offering, Valorant.

The renowned game publisher reveals its plan to introduce a new voice evaluation system to curb the widespread disruptive behavior in Valorant.

While the whole problem of toxicity in multiplayer games is a gigantic prevailing issue, Riot Games still wants to try its best to at least tame it down.

The gaming firm now wants to be more aggressive in making its built-in voice chat a more friendly space for Valorant gamers.

Its new system involves recording the in-game conversations in hopes of weeding out abusive folks, according to a recent report by Win.gg. Riot plans to listen to the voice chat logs to crack down on disruptive behavior inside the multiplayer game.

Riot Games vs. Valorant Disruptive Behavior

The voice chat recording is set to begin on July 13 in North America.

However, the recording would not yet be used to weed out an abusive Valorant player, at least for now.

So, what is it for? Riot explains that it should help improve the overall evaluation system for now.

Dexerto notes in its report that the game publisher confirmed that the recording will initially be used to test out the effectiveness of its new voice chat system.

But later this year, Riot plans to roll out a new reporting system, which already includes the recording, in the beta version of Valorant.
