Apple’s A16 Processor Is Speculated To Be Exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro

Apple's A16 processor is speculated to be exclusive to the Pro models of the iPhone 14.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that only the iPhone 14 Pro models will contain the new A16 chip, giving support to earlier speculation.

Apple just recently held their Worldwide Developers Conference last month, revealing new products and services in the company's ecosystem.

However, numerous users are looking at Apple's newest product in their iPhone line, the iPhone 14. Leaks and speculation have surfaced online, claiming multiple things about the next iPhone.

This time, the reputable Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, released a few of his viewpoints on the newest iPhone, which is still about to be released.

iPhone 14 Pro Rumors

Apple's iPhone speculators seem to be positive about the company's A16 processors on the high-end models of the iPhone 14.

According to Apple Insider, Ming-Chi Kuo and other analysts have speculated in the past that Apple will continue to use the same A15 processor in the iPhone 14 that is now found in the iPhone 13.

In the same line, there will be a new A16 processor, although it will only be available in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

In a Medium blog post and on Twitter, Kuo reiterates the allegation that the A16 is exclusive to Apple.

However, he continues by saying that this will result in a shift in the ratio of Pro models to those that are not Pro models.

Kuo stated, "The latest A16 processor will be exclusive to two iPhone 14 Pro/high-end models, significantly boosting the shipment proportion of new iPhone high-end models in 2H22 to 55-60% (vs. 40-50% in the past)."

Furthermore, Kuo went further to say that the significant increase in demand for iPhone 14 pro models will benefit the high-end suppliers of the device's rear camera.

These major suppliers include Largan for the lens; LG Innotek for the compact camera module; Alps for the VCM or OIS; and Sony for the CIS. The analyst also detailed the increased demands that Apple might place on its vendors.

Kuo stated, "Excluding the lower-spec ToF, the shipment allocations for iPhone 14 Pro's rear camera components of Sony (CIS), Largan (lens), Alps (VCM/OIS), and LG Innotek (CCM) are 100%, 60-70%, 60-70%, and 100%, respectively."

Since the most recent processing chip will only be available in the high-end models of the iPhone in the future, a large proportion of high-end iPhone models will become the norm, which will benefit the manufacturers of high-end camera components.

Apple Releasing iPhone 14

This iPhone 14 speculation has resurfaced on the internet for quite some time now, which is not new information in and of itself.

Ming-Chi Kuo is a reputable Apple analyst, and his double down on this idea means it might likely happen.

This also indicates that Apple anticipates increasing the number of iPhone 14 Pro units it sells and will adjust its marketing techniques in such a way.

On the other hand, the iPhone 14 duo is likely to become a secondary focus. As iTechPost previously reported, China experienced an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases in their country.

As a result, the country implemented aggressive measures to quickly combat the rising numbers.

Given the situation, there is a possibility that Apple experienced a delay in the manufacturing of the iPhone 14.

Due to the lockdown that was imposed on China's commercial supply center, Apple and its suppliers are having trouble keeping up with the manufacturing of the iPhone 14, which has caused delays for a few weeks.

There have been rumors that the manufacture of the iPhone 14 Max has been delayed, and these rumors appear to be true.

Even though some COVID restrictions have been lifted, the impact on supply chains is still significant.
