Best Buy leaks Verizon Moto X launch date

A leaked screenshot of Best Buy's inventory shows the retailer will begin stocking the Verizon Moto X on August 15 and will start selling the smartphone on August 29.

Motorola announced that the Moto X would be available from Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile in the coming weeks. None of the carriers have revealed when they plan on making the smartphone available for purchase. Current rumors claim that Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint would begin selling the Moto X on August 23, and T-Mobile would follow at a later date. We might have a confirmed launch date for at least the Verizon Moto X thanks to a leaked Best Buy inventory screenshot.

Android Central received a tip that the Verizon Moto X will not launch on August 23 as previously thought. Instead, the smartphone will reportedly launch on August 29. The tipster also sent a screenshot from Best Buy's internal inventory system, which shows the retailer will start getting stock of the Verizon Moto X on August 15 and will launch the handset on August 29.

The Moto X features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED HD display and is powered by a custom dual-core 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola's X8 Computing System and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU).The Moto X ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but should be updated to the latest Android 4.3 in the near future. The smartphone will be available in two storage capacities, 16GB and 32GB and includes 2GB of RAM. The rear camera is a 10-megapixel shooter and can record 1080p video, while its front-facing camera has 2 megapixels. When it comes to connectivity, the Moto X includes a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Motorola has also included a 2,200 mAh battery .

The Moto X will be offered in choice of black or white and retail for $199 for the 16GB model and $249 for the 32GB model when signing a new 2-year contract. We'll have to wait for the official word from Verizon, but Moto X fans don't have too long of a wait now.
