New Windows 11 Builds Aims to Improve Windows Defender's Blocking of Ransomware Attacks

Microsoft released a new Windows 11 build that is designed to block ransomware attacks.

New builds of Windows 11 have been made available on the Beta Channel by Microsoft. These builds feature enhanced protection against ransomware attacks provided by Microsoft Windows Defender for Endpoint.

Microsoft has just released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.450 and Build 22622.450 (KB5016700) to their Windows Beta Channel.

Windows will preview experiences that are more similar to what they will ship to their general customers on the Beta Channel.

This channel is named after the program itself. There is a possibility that the Beta Channel will be the place where new features and experiences are introduced first.

Users will benefit from these modifications by being able to better defend their devices and systems from ransomware attacks.

According to Microsoft, the upgrades largely concentrate on enhancing Microsoft Defender for Endpoint's capacity to recognize and block ransomware attacks and sophisticated threats.

However, in this build, if users have Server Message Block (SMB) Compression enabled, Microsoft will compress a file regardless of its size.

This build also has increased storage replication that operates over wide area networks with congested wide area networks (WAN) or low bandwidth.

In addition, Microsoft resolved an issue that caused Windows to display tablet mode features for certain devices that did not have touchscreens, as well as an issue that caused the Task View preview for some applications to have blank sections.

Both of these issues were caused by an issue that caused Windows to display tablet mode features for certain devices.

Upon downloading the recent builds, according to Microsoft, the team has detected a few problems.

First, there is an issue in the recent Beta Channel updates that is causing the Photos app to crash, and a fix will be rolling out soon via a Photos app update via the Store.

Second, they are investigating complaints about the failure to launch the SQL Server Management Studio for some users.

Lastly, there have also been reports that say the audio has stopped working after installing Windows 11 Build 22622.440.

According to Microsoft, in addition to the few fixes and enhancements that are detailed in this release, this version also adds enhancements to how they install updates on top of one another.

BleepingComputer reports that this version 2206.40000.15.0 update provides a number of new changes, including updates for input compatibility in applications like games, enhancements to networking and windowing, and updates for stability.

According to Microsoft, "This update brings a new suite of shims available to toggle in the Windows Subsystem for Android Settings app, which enables better experiences in several apps."

This update rolls out numerous features that improve the user experience. This increases the compatibility with games with joysticks, gamepads, games with arrow keys, and games' ability to aim with games that use arrow keys as well as their ability to slide in games that use arrow keys.
