According to market research firm The NPD Group (via Digitaltrends), the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus was the top game in the U.S. for the month of July.

MultiVersus is a platform fighter similar to Super Smash Bros., where players must remove their opponents off the level to win. It was released on July 19 and was created by Player First Games in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Thanks to its enjoyable gameplay and diverse lineup, MultiVersus has undeniably taken the industry by storm. Characters from the Warner Bros. line appear in the game. Batman, The Iron Giant, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, and LeBron James from Space Jam: A New Legacy are all under the Discovery umbrella, according to Digitaltrends report.

In addition, it's getting ready to include other characters as well; some sources suggest that Harry Potter, Beetlejuice, and even Fred Flintstone will be in it.

The MultiVersus Founder's Packs come in three different price ranges: Standard is $40, Deluxe is $60, and Premium is $100. Character Tokens, the in-game money Gleamium, and other perks are available in these special editions of the game.

The fantasy epic has already sold more than 16.6 million copies worldwide, according to the most recent data from publisher Bandai Namco. This number was 13.4 million copies in May, so Elden Ring sold an additional 3.2 million units, both physically and digitally, in just three months.

NME noted that MultiVersus is still well-liked a month after its launch. The game continues to peak at roughly 40,000 gamers each day, according to SteamDB.
