A new image has leaked comparing the front panel of the Galaxy Note 2 with the upcoming Galaxy Note 3, giving us an idea of the new phablet's size.
We only have a few more days to go before Samsung officially takes the wraps off of its highly anticipated Galaxy Note 3. Samsung has already confirmed that it will be announcing the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch at an Unpacked event it is holding on September 4. The company has done a great job of keeping images of its next-generation Galaxy Note from leaking, at least up until now.
We just reported that an image of the Galaxy Note 3's front panel leaked, confirming its 5.68-inch display and ultra thin bezel surrounding the sides of the display. A new image has now leaked that shows the same display, this time next to the Galaxy Note 2 to give us an idea of the differences between the two devices. While the Galaxy Note 3 will ship with a larger 5.68-inch display compared to the Galaxy Note 2's 5.5-inch display, the image shows the Note 3 is just a bit taller to accommodate the increase in display size, but overall is very close in size to the Galaxy Note 2. The phablets appear to be roughly the same width thanks to Samsung using a thinner 2.2mm bezel around the Galaxy Note 3's display.
The Galaxy Note 3 appears very similar in design to the flagship Galaxy S4, a uniformed look Samsung has been using on its most recent smartphones and tablets. The most recent rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 3 indicate that Samsung will release two variants of the phablet. One model will ship with an eight-core Samsung Exynos octa-core processor, while another variant will ship with a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It will reportedly use a 5.68-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Super AMOLED display and run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz Nature UX. It is expected to be offered in 32GB and 64GB models and ship with Android 4.3. It has been reported that Samsung will use the same high-end 13-megapixel camera found on the Galaxy S4 and include a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It is also expected to include enhanced S-Pen applications, a microSD expansion slot and and include a large removable battery.
We'll bring you the latest news when Samsung officially announces the Galaxy Note 3 on September 4.
