The Apple Watch Ultra has long been rumored and speculated, although there have not been any confirmations or reliable sources on how powerful the features will be in the device.

The tech giant surprised numerous tech enthusiasts as to the new look of their watches and how they could better serve their users through their enhanced features. With that, here is a short list compiled of what Apple Watch Ultra features you can use in an emergency situation.

Apple's Emergency Siren (SOS)

The Apple Watch Ultra has an emergency siren feature that you can use.

The Apple Watch Ultra has been outfitted with a redesigned speaker that is capable of producing a high-pitched alarm that is approximately 86 decibels in volume. According to Apple, a person may hear it from more than 600 meters away.

On the watch, you just need to push and hold down the customizable action button on the side to ring the emergency siren feature. Apple claims that its new emergency siren includes two distinct sound signatures with alternating patterns and has the ability to play continuously for several hours if it is required to do so.

In addition, the watch is also designed to have a distress mode that is both loud and audible. The emergency siren is definitely an Apple Watch Ultra feature for emergency situations.

Apple's Emergency SOS Call

The Apple Watch Ultra also has a feature that allows you to call for help during emergency situations.

Using the Apple Watch, you can conveniently use the emergency SOS call feature to request assistance and notify your emergency contacts about your current status.

If you press and hold the button that is located below the digital crown, you will be able to access the SOS emergency option. If you slide the SOS button all the way to the right, it will allow you to make a call or alert your emergency contacts.

Alternatively, if you are unable to look at or interact with your watch, you can press and hold the button and, after 20 seconds, it will dial the appropriate emergency responders.

Another amazing thing about this feature is that it is not exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra. All watches from the brand will be able to access emergency SOS calls.

Apple's Crash Detection

Apple Watch Ultra and the iPhone 14 devices have a new feature called crash detection.

Apple has designed the software of the devices to be able to detect when you are in a severe car crash. This allows the watch to detect up to 256g forces that occur in a crash.

Apple detects this crash by using a motion sensor with a high dynamic range gyroscope and high-g accelerometer, GPS, barometer, microphone, and an advanced motion algorithm.

When this happens, your Apple Watch Ultra will display an alert slider on the screen that will immediately allow you to call emergency services by just swiping right.

It also has a feature that allows the device to send notifications to your emergency contacts and also share your precise location with them. This function is available on all iPhone 14 models, on the Apple Watch Ultra, and on the latest Apple Watch Series 8.

Apple's Medical ID

The Medical ID feature in the Apple ecosystem is not new. However, with the latest crash detection, setting up your medical ID can help the emergency services give you the appropriate medical care.

According to ReviewGeek, in the event of a medical emergency, such as when your watch detects a fall or collision, as was discussed before, or when you send an SOS signal, the Medical ID can communicate critical health information about you to the emergency personnel who are responding to the incident.

This feature will definitely help save numerous lives in emergency situations. Your medical history, any allergies or diseases you have, your blood type, any relevant medical notes, and other pertinent health information can all be included on the medical ID.

The health app on your iPhone allows you to personalize all your essential health information. All you need to do is just fill out all of the medical ID cards, and then you can sync that data to your Apple Watch Ultra.
