Nintendo Pictures, Formerly Dynamo Pictures, Officially Launches

Nintendo has launched its newly acquired subsidiary company Nintendo Pictures, which will focus on managing projects for TV and movie projects using the Nintendo IP.

After negotiations with CG animation house Dynamo Pictures, the century-old Japanese company has finally landed on a deal, buying their first visual production, Game News 24 reports.

Launching Ahead Of The First 'Super Mario Bros.' Movie Trailer

According to Nintendo Life, following the deal's finalization on Monday, Nintendo launched an official website for its new branch immediately.

Shack News writes that this launch may signify the company's seriousness about its plans to do more films and TV series once 'Super Mario Bros.' film is released, which can project the possible success of Nintendo Pictures.

The 'Super Mario Bros' movie, developed with Illumination, is set to hit the theaters in April 2023, starring major stars like Chris Pratt, Seth Rogen, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

However, Shack News notes that the verdict still is not out if the Mario Bros. movie will capture the audience as it was intended to,

Nevertheless, the excitement is still undeniable for the endless possibilities of projects from Nintendo Pictures, starring Nintendo's lineup of remarkable characters and worlds.

Prior to its acquisition, Dynamo Pictures worked on animated projects like Metroid and Pikmin, which were CG scenes that were later on released on YouTube, says CNet.

Moving Towards A Global Vision

The Gamer claims reports are circulating that Nintendo Pictures are already employing more than 100 people as part of the company to reach its goal of introducing more of Nintendo's characters to the world beyond just video games.

"To that end, all employees will always think about what our customers find interesting and we'll work hard to create an organization with which to continue to grow by engaging in video production with interest," Game News 24 writes about Nintendo's message on its new website.

According to Techgenyz, the video game giant's website also has the goal to have consumers from around the world learn about these characters with the use of unique videos.

Over the years, Nintendo has made its name for itself as one of the largest video game manufacturing companies in the world.

The company owns Nintendo Switch, the best-selling video game console, which was widely popular worldwide during the height of the pandemic in 2021, selling over 25 million units, according to Techgenyz.

With its new venture towards animated pictures, Nintendo continues the challenge of expanding its capacity to provide loyal fans with surprising images that transcend generations and eras, Techgenyz added.

Founded in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi, Nintendo was founded as Nintendo Karuta and produced handmade hanafuda playing cards as its original venture.

Today, according to Techgenyz, the company remains the world's leading video games and video game console developers, earning $54.15 billion worth of net profit as of September this year.
