Celebrate Matt Damon's 52nd Birthday by Watching 5 of His Movies

Matthew Page Damon, famously known as Matt Damon, is one of the most celebrated artists in the industry. Not only is he an actor, but he is also a screenwriter and a film producer. 

"The Bourne Identity" star has amassed $3.88 billion at the North American Box Office, which grants him a place among the highest-grossing actors of all time.

The actor was born in Massachusetts, USA on October 8th, 1970. This year marks 52 years of existence for Damon. To celebrate that fact, here are five of his movies on Netflix you can watch.

'Saving Private Ryan'

Matt Damon alongside Tom Hanks starred in the 1998 film "Saving Private Ryan." It is an epic war film based on World War II. The film is actually based on a real soldier named Fritz Niland. It tells the story of Capt. John Miller (Tom Hanks) during the D-Day invasion of Normandy at the end of the second world war. 

He then receives new orders of saving Private James Ryan (Matt Damon) since his three brothers had already been killed in the war, and he was the last surviving son.

'The Great Wall'

The 2016 film "The Great Wall" shows the life of a simple mercenary warrior (Matt Damon) turning into a strategist that might just save China. The movie also features "Game of Thrones" actor Pedro Pascal, Andy Lau, and Willem Dafoe. 

The plot revolves around an elite army stationed in the Great Wall of China to prevent a breach from the beasts that aim to destroy humankind.

'Syriana'

The movie "Syriana" was released in 2005. The plot holds several storylines that all lead to the Middle Eastern oil industry. Matt Damon handles the role of a Switzerland-based energy analyst who will experience both opportunity and tragedy when he visits the Arabian royalty.

George Clooney also starred in the film and played Bob Barnes, a CIA operative who arranges an assassination plot meant to kill the Saudi Prince on behalf of the US.

'The Rainmaker'

The movie tells of a young attorney, Rudy Baylor (Matt Damon) who works with another lawyer to defeat an insurance company, that refused coverage to a dying boy, in court. He also meets a paralegal played by "Batman Returns" antagonist actor Danny Devito, as he prepares for his battle with the corrupt corporation.

'The Bourne Supremacy'

The 2004 film is a sequel to the initial movie "The Bourne Identity." These two movies are a part of the Bourne franchise, which all revolves around the protagonist, Jason Bourne, who is played by Matt Damon. The movie franchise started from 2002 to 2016, bearing five movies all throughout, so if you're up for a night of binge-watching, this would be a great series for you.

The second installment is the continuation of the life of a former CIA agent with amnesia. Still hellbent on figuring out his past, he once again gets entangled in a web of conspiracies involving the CIA that put his life on the line.
