Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu Had to be Shrunk to Make Her Playable for Multiplayer

The beloved tall vampire Lady Dimitrescu gets a height reduction in the upcoming Resident Evil expansion, shrinking her into a playable character in the upcoming Mercenaries Mode.

The Resident Evil developers had to reduce the character's height a smidge to scale with the others, but claims that she will remain taller and true to her core attributes, according to IGN.

Lady Dimitrescu's Height Was A Problem For Developers

With a towering height of over nine feet, the Resident Evil villain took the internet by storm, and is now the center of Capcom's RE Village update.

Dexerto writes that Lady D, as the internet fondly calls her, will be the star of the Mercenaries update coming to the game, and will debut as a playable character after being highly requested.

Along with Heinsberg and Chris Redfield, Lady D will come bundled with the RE Village's Winter Expansion on October 28.

While the two should not be difficult to manage for the developers overall, Lady D gave developers trouble as she adds more complexity due to her height.

In a correspondence with Polygon, the game expansion's director Kento Kinoshita the vampire lady's giant stature brought up a lot of challenges that it was necessary to adjust her height.

He added that it is necessary that players can control their characters easily in the new Mercenaries update, which is why they adjust her to a little under nine feet to avoid the ceilings.

What Else Is There For RE Village's Mercenaries Mode

Game News 24 details that Kinoshita claims that developers put focus on giving the characters a new special look and abilities like hand-to-hand combat and throwing furniture.

Kinoshita also added that they aim to express Lady D's two sides in this expansion, featuring her calm and dignified side by her excitable and deranged side with the Thrill Gauge system.

Game News 24 also says that the update had been finished with 20 new unlockable items, including stages and abilities, with an LZ Answerer, making it easier to play the new characters.

Resident Evil Village base game is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, where players can check out its coverage, Comic Book reports.

Meanwhile, The DLC Winters will cost about $20 for players who already own the base game and will be available on October 28.

The DLC will include the second-person mode on the base game, and the Game Content series Shadows of Rose and the Mercenary Orders add-ons update.

The Resident Evil Village Gold Edition is also expected to go on sale on the same day, and will be available for about $50.

IGN writes that the Mercenaries Mode has been popular for a long time already as a bonus game in the Resident Evil series, but not as an official expansion feature.

With the new update, users can now also play as various Resident Evil  characters in a high-score time trial mode.
