Apple Releases watchOS 9.0.2: Here's What You Should Know

Apple has released another update today after a series of rollouts since last week, and this time, the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra are at the forefront with watchOS 9.0.2.

Mac Rumors writes that Apple's watchOS 9.0.2 includes features that fix high-profile bugs such as Spotify streaming issues and microphone interruptions for Apple Watch users.

WatchOS 9 Finally Arrived For Apple Watch Users

On September 12, together with iOS 16.0.3, Apple released a preview of the newest version of watchOS 9, which improves the user experience for the wearable operating system.

Users now have the option to select watch faces from additional displays, a better workout app, and can now have more insights into their sleep and heart health, according to Piunika Web.

However, the most anticipated update that comes with watchOS 9.0.2 is a number of bug fixes that improve the microphones on some Apple Watch models and the quality of audio streaming.

XDA Developers reports that with this latest update, users can now finally stream Spotify music directly from their Apple Watches, which was compromised in the September update.

Furthermore, the September update also caused the microphone to become unresponsive and stop working entirely, but the most recent bug fix addressed that as well.

Additionally, the new update fixed the faulty snooze alarm notifications and syncing issues experienced from the Apple Wallet and Fitness services, XDA Developers reports.

The Update Includes Improvements For The Apple Watch

Supported Apple Watches are getting a fresh start as Apple rolls out their new software update for watchOS 9.0.2.

The software update that the company rolled out for Apple Watch, mainly for users who have Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra, brought improved features aside from bug fixes.

WatchOS 9.0.2 now has a new workout view, a feature that allows medical tracking, and enhanced sleep-tracking metrics for the users' health and wellness monitoring.

Connectedly, the new watch faces and accessibility features came along with a new low-power mode and a compass trackback feature for those with an outdoorsy lifestyle.

9to5 Mac reports that the build update today, also known as the 20R383 build, would only let watchOS 9 on devices later than an Apple Watch Series 4.

However, it is worth noting that the Watch Series 8 and the Watch Ultra, being the newest Apple Watch versions, come with the watchOS 9 by default.

Developers also said that if users wish to install the latest version of the watchOS, they should make sure that their wearable OS is supported by heading to their iPhone's Settings.

Mac Rumors details that should users wish to update their watchOS to the latest version, they should go to their iPhones' General section, and then choose the Software Update menu.

Once the menu is refreshed, that is when users will see the latest update installed on their devices.

However, it is important to remember that in order for the device to perform the update, the watch should be at least 50% battery and placed near the iPhone.
