"Sonic Prime" has been anticipated by many, and now, it finally has a premiere date. As mentioned by Nintendo Life, it has been confirmed that the animated series will be streaming on Netflix. It will be available to watch this December 15th, 2022.

Since its release is just before Christmas, Netflix subscribers can watch it with eggnog in one hand and a remote in the other. Not to mention the number of streams it'll get since it's the holidays. People will be on vacation, giving them plenty of time to binge-watch the show.

The Show's Characters

In a Twitter post by IGN, there have been posters of the characters that will appear in "Sonic Prime." It shows the titular blue hedgehog, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Tails, Eggman, Big the Cat, Froggy, Shadow, and Rouge.

The Teasers

The first teaser was released on September 20th. It shows Sonic running circles around Shadow (and dashing by Big the Cat and Froggy). Other scenes show Sonic in a battle with Dr. Eggman, as he is perched on top of a giant mechanical suit. Dr. Eggman is seen holding an iridescent crystal, which serves as an easter egg for the second teaser.

The second official teaser was released today, October 28th. Dr. Eggman references the crystal from the previous teaser, calling it the Paradox Prism. Sonic and the gang- Knuckles, Amy Rose, Tails, and Rouge, came busting into the cave where the crystal was found.

A fight ensued between the hedgehog team and Dr. Eggman's robotic minions. As Eggman uses the Paradox Prism, Sonic and the gang were transported into another dimension. It is then seen that some of them have been "roboticized," adopting technological upgrades and helping them in combat.

This gives the viewers an idea about the location and environment of the animated show. In the beginning, it will take place on his home planet, Mobius. As the story progresses, they will be transported into a dimension where machines are more prominent than nature.

The Show

"Sonic Prime" is produced by SEGA, Marza, and Wild Brain. The latter serves as the animation studio for the animated Netflix series. There will be seven episodes that are 20 minutes long, and one that runs at 40 minutes. Wild Brain Studios will animate 24 episodes all in all. The showrunners and executive producers are the staff of Man of Action Entertainment, which is known for works like "Ben 10" and "Big Hero Six."

• Ashleigh Ball as Tails

• Shannon Chan-Kent as Amy Rose

Big things are expected of the show, seeing as the movie adaption released in 2020 and 2022 was a huge success. "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" earned $400 million at the global box office. That makes the sequel the highest-grossing domestic opening for a video game adaptation.
