Pokemon X PUMA Collaboration Sneakers Debut This Month

PUMA is launching a new line of sneakers inspired by the creatures of Kanto Region in its collaboration with Pokemon.

Sneaker designs based on the classic starters Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle will be available to customers starting this month, according to GameSpot.

Pokemon Returns With Another Partnership For Its Silver Year Celebration

After partnering with Clark Originals and Crocs, PUMA is the next company to embody the spirit of Pokemon in its upcoming five sneakers series.

This revelation came from the PokeJungle Twitter account, a known news source for all things Pokemon, including Pokemon news and merch.

Each starter Pokemon will have their own designs, with Charmander being featured on the Slipstream Lo 1987 basketball shoes and Squirtle on the PUMA Suedes.

Meanwhile the PUMA Rider FV modern classic will feature Bulbasaur and Pikachu, who get two designs unlike the rest of the Pokemons, Hypebeast writes.

Each pair of shoes will feature designs according to the theme of each Pokemon's elements, an elemental symbol on the back tab, and an image of the Pokemon on the tongue.

A charm of the Pokemon's head will also come with the shoes, and additional details about them like their Pokedex numbers are printed inside the shoes as well.

These shoes will be available for kids and adults through the PUMA website as well at select retailers, according to Gamespot.

The Pokemon X PUMA collection is currently on display on Footlocker, and is priced at $120 as per the website.

The shoes will drop on November 12 at 8 AM PT and at 11 AM ET, and will be available for fans from everywhere in a one per person purchase rule.

Should Pokemon fans and sneakerheads want to get their hands on one of these sneakers, they can checkout the countdown and pre-order page through this link.

PUMA Is Known For Collaborating With Video Games For Its Sneakers

Earlier this year, PUMA also revealed a collection in partnership with the video game Minecraft, which features looks in full-family sizing.

It released its iconic Suede and RS-Z with designs featuring the colors and themes of the game at a price point of $50 to $100 in February and March.

This followed the success of the footwear line's PUMA X Nintendo collaboration that featured Super Mario-inspired sneakers in 2020.

This collaboration was done in the spirit of the 35 years of the Super Mario franchise, the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and the release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

The collection dropped at the same price range as the new Pokemon X PUMA collection, selling the shoes from $80 to $125 back them.

It is also notable that the apparel brand collaborated with Animal CrossingTM: New Horizons last year in a collection of long sleeve tees, hoodies, shorts, and sweatpants.

These items of clothing also featured a collection of collaboration shoes in Suedes, Wild Rider, and Future Rider, according to Nintendo.
