Instagram Launches New App Scheduler That Lets You Publish Posts in Advance

Instagram is popular with content creators for a good reason: many of Instagram's frequent users are people aged between 18 and 34 years old, which they mean to reach or to continue reaching, per Match Made.

Although posting on Instagram is simple and easy, it won't make a difference if you wish to post something on the platform when time is short.

There is a solution for that now.

Instagram recently announced that it is rolling out content scheduling tools to its app, allowing content creators to schedule posts in advance, saving them time in the process.

Businesses are also eligible to try out the new content scheduling tools.

Instagram mentioned in a post on its Instagram Creators account it is rolling out the ability to schedule the posting of content to content creators and businesses on the platform.

As a result, content creators and businesses can now schedule the posting of their Reels, Photos, and Carousel up to 75 days before their intended date on Instagram.

Engadget reports that the company had previously tested the feature over the past few weeks, giving some users a taste of what is to come in the future.

Instagram didn't mention if the feature will also be available to the rest of its users. Having businesses and content creators get it first could mean that they are looking for feedback from a much bigger audience before releasing it to the rest of the world.

Nevertheless, if you are a content creator or an owner of a business with an Instagram page, here is how you can schedule a post in advance on Instagram:

  1. Create a post as you normally would. However, before publishing your post, tap "advanced settings" to access the newly added post-scheduling tools.
  2. Tap the "schedule this post" toggle to switch the feature on.
  3. Next, select the time and date when you want the post to go live on your feed. Remember that you can only schedule a post up to 75 days before the target date.
  4. Go back to the Instagram post flow and then tap "Schedule."

That's it. You've scheduled the posting of your content for later.

Instagram Reels New Feature

Scheduling posts isn't the only new thing Instagram has. The company also added Achievements to its reels feature, giving content creators an incentive to fully utilize the tools they have at their disposal.

This new feature works just like in any game, wherein Instagram rewards content creators with an achievement for accomplishing something on their Reel.

For example, collaborating with another content creator by adding an "Add Yours" stick, Collabs tool or Remix can get a content creator an Achievement.

Making Reels more interactive for their audience through polls and quiz stickers and using trending audio or effects can also get a content creator an Achievement.

Lastly, content creators that make more than one Reel in a week can get an Achievement as well.

Instagram will notify content creators of what Achievement they earned once they publish a qualifying post.
