7 Paranormal Documentaries You Can Watch on Netflix

The world has a bottomless pool fool of mysteries. Some are curious or intrigued enough that they try to fish out some answers just to make sense of it. No one knows for certain if we'll be able to unearth them all, but here are a couple of documentaries that revolve around the paranormal to get you started.

1. 'Dark Tourist'

You might not want to go to the places that are deemed haunted by the locals, luckily for you, David Farrier is willing to do that. The show host explores different corners of the world, as he tries to investigate what makes these places terrifying.

He encounters several paranormal events like exorcisms and visits places like haunted forests. Different cultures all have their own myths and monsters, and Farrier looks into them for more people to be knowledgeable about them.

2. 'Until Dawn'

This shows is a good place to start if you don't want to dice headfirst into the horrifying stuff. The series features comedians who spend the night in known haunted places. They'll play pranks on one another to make the others more afraid, making for a lighter mood, according to Screen Rant. You'd probably never trade places with them, but you might as well have fun as you watch them squirm. 

3. 'Haunted'

For viewers who want more real-life based stories to binge, "Haunted" is one of the best suggestions out there. The show retells stories that have actually happened, which are narrated by the people who experienced it, as mentioned in Animated Times. It has three seasons, so grab yourself some popcorn.

4. 'Unsolved Mysteries'

It's not all paranormal since a lot of the episode focuses more on true crime, but it has some that have connections with supernatural instances. One example is "Tsunami Spirits," an episode that can be found in the second season, where spiritual encounters were experienced after the tragedy.

The series takes a deeper look into the origins of supernatural stories, and try to understand if they could possibly have been real. You will be walked through the story with narration and animations. They even interview people that could be tied to these so-called events. Also, you'll get to learn about the stories told long before.

I won't deny that I have searched for videos of UFO sightings before. It does tickle one's curiosity if some being from another world has visited us. The show delves into UFO sightings throughout history, along with a huge private database of UFO information. They will also show footage of some of the UFO sightings caught on camera, adding substance to the theories.

7. 'Belief: The Possession of Janet Moses'

Along with the events of a true crime case, the documentary features a spiritual aspect as well. The crime took place in New Zealand, wherein a family from a certain culture starts to experience what they believe is demonic possession.
