Chinese New Year will be celebrated on January 22nd of 2023, and Apple is joining in by releasing a Year of the Rabbit design for second-generation AirPods Pro. It will be available for stores in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
In The Spirit of the Chinese New Year
Since the Chinese Calendar cycle brings us the Year of the Rabbit, Apple decided to release a limited edition variation of their AirPods. The rabbit design is engraved on the charging case, as well as the box but printed in red, as mentioned in MacRumors.
This has become an ongoing tradition for Apple, as they have also done this in previous years. They also released a limited edition first-generation AirPod Pro design back in 2021 for the Year of the Ox, and again in 2022 for the Year of the Tiger.
The AirPods Pro special edition will be available from December 30th of 2022 to January 2nd of 2023. There are also other promos for select products, wherein customers can save up to RMB1,000, which should also be purchased within the availability of the special edition AirPods Pro.

A Today at Apple session will also start from January 6th to February 7th, wherein Apple retail stores in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau will allow customers to use their iPhones to create a New Year portrait, which they can share with others.

Other New Year Promos
Apple is also having a promotion for the Japanese New Year in the form of limited edition AirTags and gift cards. Although unlike the limited edition Year of the Rabbit AirPods Pro, the Japanese New Year AirTags come with the purchase of select items. They are not for sale.
As for the gift cards, the amount that customers will receive depends on the item they'll buy. They range from ¥4,000 to ¥32,000. The AirTags also have limited offers in terms of both quantity and the items purchased.
The AirTags with the Year of the Rabbit design engraved on them will be given to customers who purchase an iPhone 12, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE. There are only 30,000 of the limited edition AirTags produced and will go to the first customers who get them.
The gift card comes with the purchase of both devices and accessories. That includes AirPods, MagSafe Charging Pads, Apple Pencils, iPads, iPhones, MacBook Airs, MacBook Pros, iMac, iMac mini, and more. It's important to note that this promo only applies to physical stores in Japan and the Apple Store website.
