Allergies are a drag, whether it's a simple sniffle-inducing one or something worse like triggering a life-threatening reaction. A lot of times, it can get in the way of our daily life, or hinder us from something we want. So, here are a few things that might help you avoid an allergy attack.

Air Purifier

This is obvious, but also important enough to add to the list. The air is filled with particles that the naked eye can't see, and sometimes, allergens are among those. It's easy for you to be exposed to something that's circulating in the air you breathe.

As pointed out by The New York Times, using an air purifier will sift out allergens and pollen particles in the air. One of the good ones is the Coway Airmega Air Purifier. It's been proven that it can remove 98.9% of particulates in the air in just 30 minutes.

For travel, you can also use a portable air purifier. There are those that can easily be plugged into the cigarette lighter and others that are rechargeable. You'll be on the road, so you'll likely bring a lot of dust, smoke, and bacteria inside your car.

UV Light Sanitizer

A UV light might not be the first thing you think of when fighting allergens, but it will help you tremendously, as suggested by Bustle. Certain allergies are triggered by many things, whether it's smoke, odors, molds, germs, or sometimes even the cold.

A purifier might do the best job of getting rid of smoke, dust, and other allergens, but a UV light sanitizer takes care of the odors, mold, and germs. The Germ Guardian UV Sanitizer is a good one since it will replace your water-based purifier which might make mold growth worse.

Dehumidifier

Speaking of mold growth, they can sometimes be persistent, a UV sanitizer might not be enough. That's where a dehumidifier comes in. Not only will it decrease mold growth, but it will also help you get rid of dust mites since they are less likely to survive when the humidity drops.

One that you can look into is the Frigidaire. It's a powerful and efficient humidifier. It can reduce the humidity in as big as a 135-square-foot space. Tests show that it reduced the humidity in a room from 59% to 47% while a powerful humidifier was on high.

Though it's not as recognized, there are devices out there that can determine if the food you're about to eat has allergens in them. This is a convenient way of testing the food when you decide to eat out.

You won't have to ask a waiter what the food's contents are or risk it by just trying the food out. Nima offers a device that can detect gluten for you. This device is essential for people with gluten intolerance, which can cause serious allergic reactions if triggered.

You can purchase an allergen sensor that monitors things like air quality, temperature, humidity, and particles in the air. The Cair sensor will learn your asthma and allergy triggers and it also comes with an app that will monitor the air quality anywhere, any time.

The WiFi unit will send the data to the user's smartphone once it does detect allergens in the air, giving them an early warning for potential asthma or allergy attack. With a warning, the user can choose to leave the area or take the appropriate medication to prevent allergic reactions.
