Telehealth Might Be A Thing In The Future With Samsung’s IntelliTek Health Partnership

Samsung, a renowned innovator in consumer electronics and digital technology, launched a new partnership with IntelliTek Health last week.

IntelliTek Health is a business that has created a patient-focused virtual assistant tool, looking to bring telehealth services to Samsung products.

Samsung Is Bringing AI Solutions To Users Via Voice Assistance

According to a press release from IntelliTek dated January 24, as part of the agreement, IntelliTek will collaborate with Samsung Mobile Solutions to introduce its AI solution.

It will be called IntelliTek Health's Personal Virtual Assistant, which aims to improve communication with patients after discharge, Becker's Hospital Review writes.

In order to enable healthcare practitioners to offer their services through Samsung products, the alliance will leverage AI technology and digital voice help.

The "Personal Virtual Assistant" (PVA) platform is a proprietary offering from IntelliTek Health that promotes effective care delivery.

After patients are released from the hospital, the tablet-based system employs voice assistance to transmit post-discharge instructions and other information to them.

"The PVA is the leading technology to address post-discharge care for providers and patients," Martyn Molnar, Global Healthcare Lead and Products CEO of IntelliTek Health, explains.

It can be noted that in the US healthcare system, there are about 36 million discharges each year, and the majority of patients are left to manage their own post-discharge care.

The partnership with Samsung will aid Intellitek in addressing the significant health inequity in this area with Samsung Mobile Solutions, Forbes reports.

It also provides connectivity that is easy, individualized medical communication, and instruction between Patients and their Care teams in the crucial window after leaving the hospital.

This Is Not Samsung's First Venture In The Healthcare Scene

The company has its own cutting-edge line of medical devices and is renowned for its innovative work in imaging and diagnostics.

Additionally, Samsung operates a renowned medical facility in Seoul, the country's capital, which contributes significantly to the local healthcare system and offers crucial services to the community.

Many of the company's technology endeavors in the healthcare sector are motivated by the issues it personally observes during the course of caring for its own patients.

Samsung may soon be able to implement the PVA across its device ecosystem, including its range of very advanced televisions, which are now among the best-selling TVs in the US, given the appropriate conditions and enough time.

According to Forbes, this might enable completely new levels of customer accessibility and reach for the tech giant.

In the end, investments and attention have been focused mostly on healthcare at-home solutions in recent years.

Offering healthcare in the patient's home has been seen as a highly valuable venture in terms of convenience, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Additionally, this innovative attempt at healthcare delivery may deal with significant challenges with access to care.

In essence, this collaboration and the numerous other technical projects underway to support at-home healthcare services and remote healthcare solutions may determine how healthcare is delivered in the future.
