6 Sitcoms on Netflix You Should Watch This 2023 If You Haven’t Yet

Sitcoms are perhaps one of the best things to come out of television. They go on for a while so you'll have plenty of laughs along the way, and you'll get to relate and make jokes with a fanbase in many social media groups. Here is a couple you might enjoy if you haven't seen them yet.

1. 'The Good Place'

The show tells the story of Eleanor Shellstrop, a person who behaved terribly in her life but ended up in "The Good Place" by accident. She discovers this and tries to hide that fact even if she knows that she does not belong there.

You'll get to watch Kristen Bell, who plays Eleanor in the show, try to hide that fact from the man who runs the place, Michael. You also appreciate characters like the indecisive Chidi and the prissy Tahani. You may also find Jason stealing the show with his adorable naivety.

2. 'New Girl'

"New Girl" has that kind of comedic value that comes with a girl getting mixed up with men who need a bit more growing up to do. The appeal of the show is that it's more improvisational, as pointed out by Paste Magazine.

You won't find yourself with forced jokes like some sitcoms have. Instead, it will feel as though you stumbled upon the mishaps of a group of friends and you get to laugh at the things they do, even more so as you add Zooey Dechanel's goofball persona into the mix.

3. 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'

The story follows the life of Detective Jake Peralta and his friends in the precinct. At first, you'd think that there's not much fun to be had in a place where criminals were taken and it's all work and no play.

You'd be surprised how Jake, Amy, Rosa, Gina, Terry, Charles, and Captain Holt will prove you wrong. The characters have defining quirks that are basically what sitcoms thrive on, but "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" just retains it so well without compromising character development.

4. 'Blockbuster'

The show doesn't need to build up its actors as comedians since Randall Park and Melissa Fumero are no strangers to starring in a sitcom. It tells the story of Timmy who manages and eventually owns the last-ever Blockbuster store. Sadly, the show has been canceled after one season, but that shouldn't stop you from watching it anyway.

5. 'The Ranch'

Netflix sends another original our way with Ashton Kutcher as the protagonist. The story is about Colt coming home to Colorado after his career in semi-pro football doesn't pan out. Instead, he will be working on their family's ranch along with his father.

Although family-related comedy can be enough to keep viewers hooked, there is an added element of romance as Colt sees his high school sweetheart again, as mentioned in Comedy. Kutcher has also been on the famous sitcom "That '70s Show," so he's not exactly new to this.

6. 'Pretty Smart'

"Pretty Smart" shows us the life of the achiever, Chelsea played by Emily Osment. If she sounds familiar, that's because you've probably seen her from "Hannah Montana" who plays the titular character's best friend, Lilly.

She moves in with her sisters and her roommates, who she discovers are nothing like her at all. Still, Chelsea learns to love her new life as well as the people she lives with. It kind of has that Disney teen show-like atmosphere to the show, but that may just be part of its charm.
