Retailer eBay is currently selling the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 Active for $499. The handset is a rugged variant of the flagship Galaxy S4, sporting some unique features.
AT&T is the only U.S. carrier currently offering the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, but the handset can now be purchased unlocked in Urban gray for $499.99 through eBay. The smartphone has been designed to be a more rugged and tougher version of Samsung's current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4. It brings a similar 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display and powerful quad-core processor as found in the Galaxy S4. It's packing a high-end 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 4x zoom. The S4 Active also keeps the thin and light design of the Galaxy S4, but is both waterproof and dust resistant, borrowing a page from Sony's playbook. The handset is water-resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes and uses a scratch-resistant display, so it can withstand virtually everything you throw at it.
The Galaxy S4 Active has been available exclusively through AT&T for $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. The smartphone can now be purchased unlocked and contract-free through eBay for $499.99.
