A lot of people may criticize the way Musk runs Twitter, but it's undeniable that he has managed to climb his way to the top and become the richest man in the tech industry. He is the CEO of several companies like Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter, Neuralink, and The Boring Company.
Being the chief executive of one company is already hard enough for others, so imagine being the CEO of five companies. This year, the tech billionaire has a net worth of $187.9 billion, which is tens of billions richer than the man in second place.
2. Jeff Bezos
Jeff Bezos is known for his success with Amazon, and like many tech greats, he started out in his garage back in the 90s. Aside from the biggest e-commerce company, he also owns The Washington Post and the aerospace company called "Blue Origin."
Amazon has branched out from e-commerce and has entered the digital streaming business as well among others. Blue Origins is not as successful as SpaceX but it makes $42.8 million annually, according to Zippia. The billionaire has a current net worth of $125.1 billion.
3. Mark Zuckerberg
Mark Zuckerberg is the co-founder and CEO of Meta Platforms, which was known as Facebook back in 2004. He did so at the age of 19 during his Harvard days. Becoming a self-made man starting at a young age proves that it's never too early to start building your legacy.
He had built so much from what he started with and acquired other platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp. Zuckerberg's net worth this 2023 is $77.1 billion, which is an impressive achievement given that he's only 38 years old.
4. Shou Zi Chew
Shou Zi Chew served as the CFO of smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi and transferred to ByteDance with the same holding the same position. Eventually, he became the CEO of one of the biggest social media platforms, TikTok, and has a net worth of $49 billion.
Although his current position is not to be envied given the issues he is facing with the US government, which claims that TikTok has been illegally accessing US user data for the Chinese government.
5. Jack Ma
The business magnate is most-known for being the co-founder of the e-commerce company, Alibaba Group. He is also the co-founder of Yunfeng Capital, a private equity firm based in China. Formerly the CEO of Alibaba, he stepped down in 2019.
You would think that the tech billionaire studied economics or business, but he was actually a former English teacher who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts/Science degree, as mentioned in Forbes. Now, the Chinese tech billionaire is worth $25.5 billion.
