5 Nintendo Switch Games to Watch Out For This May 2023 (and Beyond)

The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular consoles, with a wide variety of games to choose from. You've already gotten to play the popular Super Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon series on the Switch, but there are plenty of great games on the way to Nintendo Switch this May 2023. 

The games to be released include Nintendo-exclusive games, as well as third-party, triple-A, and indie projects. Below, we've collected five of the best titles you can expect to see on the Nintendo Switch this year.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Release Date: May 12

After the desperate requests of players for a Breath of the Wild 2, the release of the sequel is coming close with the name being "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom." Nintendo's trailer of the game suggests that Zelda will finally be a playable character alongside Link. 

Tears of the Kingdom focuses on Hyrule suffering from another calamity despite the death of Ganon. The open-world aspect remains the same, but players will be able to travel to the sky islands above Hyrule, a similar feature to a previous game known as Skyward Sword. 

Lego 2K Drive

Release Date: May 19

Lego 2K Drive is the first game release in a multi-title partnership between 2K Games, Visual Concepts, and The Lego Group. This game blends the simplicity of Legos and the complexity of driving simulators. 

Lego 2K Drive offers an amazing-looking open-world racing environment with the ability to create your own cars. You can race across various biomes with off-road terrains, open waters, and riveting racetracks, as well as search for hidden areas as you race through the brick-like world. 

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals

Release Date: July 12

Night School Studio and Netflix's horror-adventure game takes place five years after the events of Oxenfree. 

Oxenfree 2 will continue its hauntingly narrative experimental gameplay with Riley returning to her hometown, Camena. Riley is set to investigate the mysterious radio signals coming from her hometown. 

Oxenfree 2 introduces a newly expanded dialogue system, various new characters, and more strangeness for players to explore. 

Hogwarts Legacy

Release Date: July 25

This popular game which has been trending on many social media platforms is set to be released on the Switch by July 25. Hogwarts Legacy is a role-playing game (RPG) that takes place in the 1800s.

Players can create their own custom fifth-year student enrolled in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From there, you can choose which house to take, attend classes, learn spells, create potions, battle professors, dark wizards, and magical beasts.

Sea of Stars

Release Date: August 29

Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG turn-based combat system. This turn-based RPG offers modernized exploration, storytelling, and environment interactions, while still offering a hearty slice of good old, nostalgic, simple fun. 

Sea of Stars tells the story of two children of the Solstice. These children will have to combine their powers of the Moon and Sun to perform Eclipse magic, which is the only force capable of fending against monstrous creations of the main antagonist known as The Fleshmancer.
