Albion Online's "Knightfall" patch is now live.

The popular fantasy sandbox MMORPG recently launched its latest major content patch, Knightfall, which added a bunch of new features for its players to enjoy and various Quality-of-Life (QoL) improvements to make doing so a better experience.

The new features of Albion Online's Knightfall patch should occupy much of its players' time and attention for a while. According to the game's official website, the update comes with a new dungeon - a mysterious new location, Knightfall Abbey, hidden within the Mists.

Despite the abbey's crumbling stone and stained-glassed windows, it contains treasures and ancient shrines that offer powerful buffs to those that seek them out. However, it is also home to various enemies - the abbey's former residents - that can end players' search if they're not careful.

However, these will only exist for a limited time, so players must beat the clock to get the abbey's riches before it's too late. Interestingly, other players could also seek out the treasure lying within the abbey, which could lead to some interesting interactions and fights for the treasure within.

Apart from Knightfall Abbey, players can find Coffers that only reveal themselves to nearby players and Caches that offer individualized loot to the player who clears a mob camp. These two treasure sources are located inv various parts of the map, encouraging players to explore and find them before others do.

Additionally, the Knightfall update brings brand new items, such as the new Avalonian and Brecillien Capes, that offer unique defensive capabilities. It also comes with new Mystic Owl mounts that could carry adventurers swiftly through the world, along with new currencies for players to discover on their journey.

Knightfall also adds new crafting components for players to gather and use whenever they wish and a new NPC named Eralia Wayfarer, a trader who only lets adventurers of sufficient standing do business with her.

Albion Online Additions, Improvements

Albion Online Knightfall update not only added new content to the game; it also made improvements to make playing it a better experience than before. Sandbox Interactive, the developer behind the game, added some improvements to its "Roads of Avalon" patch that added new enemies and increased mob density to give players a worthy challenge to conquer.

It also added new off-road paths between the Roads that offer both exploration and escape options for the adventurer looking to explore or retreat. Last but not least, some of the Road's mobs now drop Avalonian Energy, which players can use to infuse items with the help of the Energy Manipulator, per the official Albion Online Wiki.

The update also came with QoL improvements that include extensive combat balance changes and an optional ASWD movement system and repairing items directly via the Marketplace UI. It also allows players to change their character's gender at any time for Gold and major optimizations to mobile and controller gameplay.

Sandbox Interactive made other QoL improvements, though players would need to find out what they are for themselves to learn more.
