Types of Music You Can Find on YouTube to Boost Your Productivity

Whether you're at home or in the office, being productive and staying that way for long periods is part and parcel of the job you're in.

There's a saying that it's easy to start a war than to stop it; it can be true in this case. It's easy to start becoming productive, but it's hard to maintain it.

Thankfully, there are ways to help stay productive for long periods, and one way is through listening to music. You may have heard about lo-fi music, but other types can do the same for you.

Here are some types of music that you can listen to on YouTube and other audio streaming platforms to help you be productive at work:

From Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert, classical music has been the de facto music to help people focus since the 18th century. It may sound outdated in the age of pop music, but there are still people who enjoy them, and not all of them are snobs.

Despite the relaxing feeling classical music induces, which could help you sleep, it also works the other way: it may help improve focus and stimulate the brain, allowing you to improve your productivity.

Listening to BeethovenMozartVivaldi, and Bach's works on your favorite audio streaming service is a good start toward your classical music-induced productivity boost.

While this might not count as music per se, natural ambiance/music has been a great productivity booster since it makes us feel right at home and in our comfort zone.

Whether you're in a flat of your own in the city or overseas, the sounds of rainfall, rustling trees, chirping crickets, and even the tweeting of birds could help you feel right at home and comfy, even if you are not there.

Jazz music - it may sound like they belong in a bar, but it is a great way to improve productivity. Jason Klobnak, a musician, author, and educator at JKM, Inc and Arapahoe Community College, mentioned in a report that listening to jazz music while working improves cognitive ability and promotes creativity - the improvements you'll want to have during work hours.

Gamers would probably agree that they experienced a time when they were able to pass a section of a game through focus alone. While an impressive feat, especially on difficult levels/sections, they had help with the game's music director and composer during its development.

Popular Science reports that video game music was designed to simultaneously stimulate your senses and blend into the background of your brain, allowing you to focus on the task and lock into the objective.

If you're looking for video game music worth listening to increase productivity, check out the Assassin's Creed series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and LA Noire for your video gaming fix to improve productivity.
