Samsung Releases Its 49-Inch OLED Gaming Monitor

Samsung's technology is up there with the leading brands if not at the top in some markets. It can be said that when they release new innovative devices, it's bound to catch the attention of consumers. One of its latest releases is its 49-inch OLED monitor, and it's a dual-screen gamer's dream.

The Odyssey OLED G95SC

Samsung Electronics just launched the new Dual Quad High Definition (DQHD) monitor called the Odyssey OLED G9, which the company boasts is the world's first DQHD OLED monitor featuring AI upscaling with record-breaking response time.

The device is 49 inches in size with a 32:9 inch ratio, which is equivalent to two QHD screens in a dual-screen setup. It has an impressive 5,120 x 1,440 resolution with a fast 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time, along with a 240Hz refresh rate.

It would also be easier for users to see all the contents on the screen because of its design with a curvature of 1800R. Through a deep learning algorithm, it can analyze images and upscales them automatically to adjust the brightness all while amplifying the contrast.

With display, it is enhanced with DisplayHDR True Black 400 for a more detailed and vivid output of content. The AMD FreeSync Premium Pro feature will make sure that the user will have a smoother gameplay experience.

For a gamer, these features could offer a huge advantage in gameplay. As acknowledged by the executive VP of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics Hoon Chung, Odyssey OLED G9 is equipped with unrivaled picture quality, raising the bar of OLED gaming.

There are various connectivity options such as HDMI 2.1 and Micro HDMI 2.1, Display Port 1.4, and Auto Source Switch+. Users can also adjust the position of the monitor for optimal visual with the Height Adjustable Stand that comes with the monitor.

The monitor also offers access to the Samsung Gaming Hub and smart TV apps, which extends to streaming and gaming services. With these inclusions, gamers will be able to play games with partners like Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce Now.

The Odyssey OLED G93SC (Alternative)

There is an alternative for the Odyssey OLED G95SC, which you can pre-order for $2,199.99 on the Samsung website. The other option, namely Odyssey OLED G93SC, has the same dimensions as the previous model.

It also comes with the same curvature, HDR display, resolution, response time, refresh rate, sync tech, stand, interface, and more. However, it will not come with the Samsung Gaming Hub, smart TV, and IoT hub. It also doesn't have the Neo Quantum Processor Pro SOC.

You might have to wait for a little while before you can opt for the alternative or even determine the price difference between the two. Based on the reports, the model is expected to become available by the third quarter of 2023.
