Mercedes-Benz already has a functioning voice control system that lets drivers access information while keeping their hands on the wheel. With ChatGPT, the company claims that users can now get more comprehensive answers as the Voice Assistant responds.

The MBUX beta has been officially released, which means the 900,000 drivers with an eligible Mercedes-Benz vehicle can use the enhanced Voice Assistant through the MBUX infotainment system. All they have to say is "Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta programme"

Already equipped with validated data of the MBUX Voice Assistant, ChatGPT allows the user to have a more natural exchange with the virtual assistant. Instead of just asking about directions for the destination, they can also discover more information about the place.

Mercedes-Benz even pointed out that a driver can ask the AI model for a new dinner recipe or answer a complex question. Although there may not be much need for it in driving situations, drivers can learn about new dishes to cook before they get home.

Drivers won't even have to go to a service center to install the new feature. The launch will be done over the air. In terms of security, the car company will also use the "enterprise-grade security, privacy and reliability capabilities of Azure."

The data collected from the driver will remain in the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud which is anonymised before it is analyzed. The carmaker will also have complete control over other IT processes in the background even as it uses the Asure OpenAI Service.

Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Markus Schäfer states that the integration of ChatGPT with Microsoft is a way for the company to make their cars the center of their customers' digital lives, which boosts the existing Hey Mercedes function.

AI Integration in Products and Services

ChatGPT has been around since last year. After its launch, people were impressed with its capabilities, all while Microsoft's search engine Bing was already set to integrate it in its system. Bing with ChatGPT was eventually launched by February 2023.

OpenAI has since partnered with several other companies to incorporate AI tools into their products and services. After all, AI is being developed in order to help humans and make their lives exponentially easier.

For instance, Buzzfeed intends to use OpenAI's technology to generate original material and find ways to make their well-liked quizzes better. The outcomes after participating in them will be more reflective of the user, as mentioned by Tech Monitor.

Adobe Firefly has also been making good progress when it comes to using AI to improve on its products like Adobe Illustrator. A feature called Generative Color lets you genrate a color scheme through text prompts, which you can use to paint an illustration.
