Google AI and Personal Matters

When Google merged with DeepMind last April, an intelligence team was created to test the ability of a generative AI as a personal life coach. For months, the team have been developing the AI to perform at least 21 types of personal and professional tasks.

From giving life advice and ideas to planning and tutorials, the new AI by Google DeepMind is keen to explore this possibility and release it to the public later. If successful, the project will surely boost Google as one of the top tech company to dabble with generative AI.

According to the documents reviewed by Times, the project's main idea is to give user suggestions and recommendations on various life situations. In addition, the tutoring function can be used to teach new skills or improve your existing ones.

Dangers of AI Life Coach

On the contrary, Google's AI safety experts are warning about the potential effects of pursuing such project. According to these experts, people could have "diminished health and well-being" and "loss of agency," if they let an AI rule their life. An AI dependency can also pose risk and might have a mindset that AI is the absolute right.

Other AI chatbots like Google Bard have been banned to give medical, financial, and legal advice as part of its service. Currently, Google are still evaluating the potential of the project and its public launch is still unsure.
