YouTube Music AI Incubator

In a blog post, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan unveiled the three principles in working towards AI music. Firstly, YouTube announced that AI will be embraced responsibly together with their music partners. As a result, the company introduced its YouTube Music AI Incubator that will help develop the company's approach towards the AI music.

For starters, the program will be working on UMG's roster of top talents such as Anitta, Rosanne Cash, Ryan Tedder, Frank Sinatra, and more. These group of artists will help YouTube in gathering insights on generative AI experiments. Through working hand-in-hand, the companies hope that they can bring out the best way to give artists and fans the proper valuation of their craft. At the same time, YouTube is looking forward on bringing solutions to possible critical issues in the future.

YouTube Content ID to Offer Protective Measures for Creators

Within its second principle, YouTube promised that the company will ensure to provide the appropriate protection for their community from creators to viewers. The company also disclosed that they have invested on systems that will create balance on the interest of copyright holders within the YouTube community.

The Content ID will ensure that the rights holders will get paid for the use of their content. In addition, it will be used to keep YouTube safe behind the scenes.

YouTube has been exploring ways to safeguard AI-generated content. For instance, the platform does not allow uploading a technically manipulated content that can have serious risk to the viewers. YouTube has guaranteed that they will keep improving their work and approach towards AI.

"Together, we can embrace this new technology in a way that supports artists, songwriters, producers, and the industry as a whole while driving value for fans and pushing the bounds of what's creatively possible," Mohan wrote.
