Google has updated the Google Play Store once again and it's now offering the Nexus 7 in a new white color option.
When Google introduced its first generation Nexus 7, the tablet was an instant hit with consumers. It offered users a 7-inch tablet with very impressive specs, and came with the guarantee of getting future Android updates quickly since it was a Nexus device. Moreover, it had a very attractive price when compared to similar tablets on the market. The company released the second-generation Nexus 7 in July this year and it followed the same tradition of delivering a very capable tablet at an affordable price.
Google has updated the Play Store and is offering the 32GB Wi-fi only Nexus 7 in a new white color option. There has been no change in the tablet's specs and it's currently only available in white for the 32GB Wi-Fi model. It's unclear if Google will make the 16GB and LTE Nexus 7 variants available in white sometime in the future.
The Nexus 7 features a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 full HD IPS scratch-resistant Corning Glass display with a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (ppi). The tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU). It ships with Android 4.4 KitKat, has 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.
Its camera capabilities include a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter. It has great-sounding stereo speakers with surround sound and Frauhofer audio technology. In terms of wireless connectivity, you'll find dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC. The tablet also includes a microUSB port and a Slimport for 1080p HDMI output. It's packing a large non-removable 3,950 mAh battery, which Google claims will provide up to 9 hours of active use, 9 hours of HD video playback, 10 hours of web browsing or e-reading, and 300 hours of standby time.
