'Friends' (1994-2004) 

Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, "Friends" was a sensational series in the '90s up until today. The show centered with the lives of six friends: Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe, and Joey, as they navigate through life in New York. 

For decades, "Friends" have maintained its popularity compared to other sitcoms. Despite the setting being in the '90s many young fans still appreciated the humor that was used in the series, further proving of how genius the show was. 

'Seinfeld' (1989-1998) 

Created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, "Seinfeld" made its way in the '90s with its unique representation of everyday life in New York. The show followed the life of Jerry Seinfeld, together with his friends George, Elaine, and Cosmo. 

"Seinfeld" is still one of the oldie but goodie sitcoms as it managed to capture the quirky things of life. More importantly, people can deeply resonate with a lot things that the characters went through in the show. 

'The Big Bang Theory' (2007-2019) 

Created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, "The Big Bang Theory" proved that science and comedy is a good combination for a sitcom. While the show heavily featured Sheldon's oddities, his other brilliant friends: Leonard, Raj, Howard, and their partners were also a big part of the show. 

Mixing pop culture references from comic books to science fiction movies and literally science, "The Big Bang Theory" explores how peculiar life can be and how it can bring such joys in ones life. 

'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' (2013-2021) 

Created by Michael Schur and Dan Goor, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" featured a unique blend of crime-solving and comedy. The series revolved around the nine-nine detectives as they form a deep bond within inside and outside the precinct district. 

If you like one-liner punches with a touch of character development, then this show is the perfect series for you. It also tackles social issues such as gender exclusivity and representation. 

'The Good Place' (2016-2020) 

Created by Michael Schur, "The Good Place" is a combination of philosophy, ethics, and comedy, all bundled up together. The story followed Eleanor as she was welcomed by Michael in the good place after dying. She was also joined by Chidi, Tahani, and Jason. 

Throughout the show the series was able to portray various ethical dilemmas that will make its viewers question themselves. Regardless of its seriousness, "The Good Place" was able to create its own brand of comedy through philosophy.
