Riot Games Nerfed Jett

The latest patch for Valorant, 7.04, was launched on August 29th. Aside from fixes, a couple of loved agents received tweaks that made them less powerful than they once were. Ben Affleck, known for playing Batman, expressed his disappointment.

A video was posted by the voice actress for Jett herself, Shannon Williams. Affleck showed up to the Valorant Champions Tour, where he said: "Yeah, then they nerfed Jett," to which Williams responded with "I know" in an upbeat yet disappointed tone.

The South Korean agent of wind was already tweaked in the last patches, but she is still one of the most-used agents in competitive and professional games. Some would argue that compared to others, she was still pretty overpowered.

Her ability Tailwind (E) has been toned down. Instead of having a 12-second window to use the skill when activated, it has been cut down to 7.5 seconds. According to Riot Games, shortening the window pushes Jett to be more deliberate with her calls.

Cloudburst (C) has also been significantly reduced. The duration has gone from 4.5 seconds to 2.5 seconds, cutting it by almost half. Upon using the skill, it will also take a little bit longer to re-equip her gun. To add salt to the wound, Updraft (Q) charges have been reduced to just one.

Jett's Ultimate ability, Blade Storm (X) will now take eight ultimate points instead of seven. The wind-wielding agent is among the most nerfed agents in the most recent update. Players are still trying to get over how Riot Games also nerfed the French agent, Chamber.

Other Updates

It's not all sad news. The latest update is giving players a new map called "Sunset." It will feature three lanes and two planting sites. Right now, the map is only in rotation for Unrated games and Swiftplay, but it will be included in Competitive by 7.05.

Back to sad news, it's not just Jett who was nerfed. A couple of other agents saw some changes that players might not be happy about. For instance, Breach's Aftershock (C) ability had its tickets reduced from three to two. However, the damage went from 60 per tick to 80.

Both Breach and Brimstone's Ultimate abilities require an additional ultimate point. As for Fade, it will take a bit longer to re-equip her gun after using her Prowler (C) ability. Gekko's little companion, Wingman, had its HP reduced from 100 to 80.

Skye's Ultimate ability will now take eight points instead of seven. Her seekers are now destroyed faster as their HP has gone down from 150 to 120. Her other scouting ability, Trailblazer (Q), also had its HP reduced from 100 to 80.

Sova's Recon Bolt (E) scans the surroundings two times now instead of three. With Viper, her Ultimate ability also requires an additional point before it can be used. On the bright side, Astra's Ult now blocks audio instead of just muffling it, but her other skills have also been nerfed.
