5 Different Kinds of Monitor Mounts You Can Use

Even though monitors come with their own stands, they're not the best option when it comes to adjustability, which is why buying a monitor mount is ideal. There are several kinds you can use as they all have their own benefits. Here are a few options you can look into.

1. Single-Arm Monitor Mount

Single-arm monitor mounts are your best option if you plan on using just one screen. Unlike standard stands, this mount allows you to rotate your monitor at 360 degrees, as well as tilt it up to 80 degrees. You can easily adjust the height of your screen to match your eyeline.

It's easy to install since it uses a clamp mechanism that pinches your table, also completely adjustable to fit the desk with up to 3.85 inches thickness. The mount can carry most screens, save those that exceed 27 inches.

2. Wall Monitor Mount

The wall mount option could be preferable if you don't want to add extra weight to your desk. Since most mounts use clamps to attach to the table, glass or glass-top tables are at risk of breaking due to both the weight and the pressure.

The mount has articulating arms and can carry monitors that are up to 42 inches in size. It's compatible with monitors that require Vesa mounts. The swivel can go as far as 90 degrees for either side, as well as tilt for anti-glaring.

3. Dual Mount Stand

Whether for work or gaming, you can use two screens to maximize your view. There are several monitor mounts you can use that serve different purposes, but if you prefer both screens to be level with each other, a steady stand is the best option.

This particular mount also uses a clamp to attach itself to your table. While the level of the monitor remains the same, you can still swivel the two screens sideways up to 90 degrees. Both mounts can handle up to 22 lbs in weight.

It's basically the same as the single-arm monitor mount, except that you get to do it with two monitors. To support the weight of two screens, the mount has two clamps at the base. The arm allows you to adjust the level, tilt, and swivel of the monitors. It's easy enough to match both settings for your monitor with a bit of tweaks.

5. Laptop and Monitor Mount

The dual compatibility allows you to use your laptop with an extra screen. This comes in handy if you bring your laptop to work but want extra screen space when you work at home. You can adjust the height for both arms of up to 17 inches, with each being able to carry up to 22 lbs.

The tray for the laptop is 15 inches by 17 inches, which is designed to be breathable to prevent your laptop from overheating. The stand itself, like most mounts, is attached using a C-clamp. As for swiveling, both arms can go both ways up to 90 degrees.
