Van Gogh Museum Collaborates with Pokemon for 50th Anniversary Celebration

Pokemon Adventure with Van Gogh





Pokemon's Pikachu, Eeeve, Snorlax, and many others are joining the Van Gogh Museum's 50th anniversary special event. The goal of the collaboration is to introduce young artists to Gogh and his works. Moreover, it will also give the artists ideas on how Gogh was influenced by Japanese art.

"This collaboration will allow the next generation to get to know Vincent van Gogh's art and life story in a refreshing way," general director of Van Gogh Museum Emilie Gordenker said in a press release.

The collaboration will feature various activations that are eye-catching especially to the young audience. The Van Gogh Museum and Pokemon partnership will be available starting September 28, 2023 to January 7, 2024. The museum also reminded that the admission ticket is mandatory and can only be purchased online.

Pokemon x Van Gogh Activations

Both companies promised a fun and fulfilling activities that will surely be enjoyed by everyone. For instance, a presentation of Pokemon painting inspired by Van Gogh's style. A total of six paintings will be featured on the first floor of the Rietveld building.

In addition, an adventure activity awaits for children ages six and up. The visitors will also have the chance to win a special Pikachu x Van Gogh Museum promo card. For older audience, an online learning material can be used to teach students to understand Gogh's life and art.

Lastly, a "How to draw Pikachu" video activity will be held at the museum which encourages visitors to see and try it for themselves to create an artwork. Other exclusive merchandise will be sold at the Van Gogh Museum Shop and The Pokemon Centre online store.
