Crunchyroll Game Vault Offers Free Games

Anime streaming platform is rewarding loyal tier subscribers with the launch of the Crunchyroll Game Vault. The new service is now offering free five game titles as a starter. According to the announcement the new games included are: Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery, Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions, inbento, River City Girls, and Wolfstride. Other game titles will be added soon.

Based on the selection of games, it seemed that the vault favors Indie games that have similar aesthetics to anime. This makes total sense as the main goal of the platform relies on anime fans or otaku. The five games offer various genres and experiences from RPG to action and even calm puzzle games.

"Crunchyroll Game Vault is a curated, focused library of premium titles for the global anime fan that loves gaming, adding even more value to Crunchyroll memberships by connecting fans with anime-infused content," EVP of emerging business Terry Li shared.

Fans who would like to subscribe to experience the vault must avail the Mega Fan tier which costs $9.99 per month or the Ultimate Fan tier which is $14.99 monthly. However, the latter tier is exclusively available in the US only. Crunchyroll also stated that it may take a few days before the vault becomes available to certain regions as it will be released incrementally.

Crunchyroll Offers Additional Services for Free

Fans who do not own any tier subscription will not be entitled to the free games. Fortunately, the company announced that other new services will still be available for free.

Previously, the platform announced a 24-hour free anime channel that encourages people who are new to anime to watch shows. The service is totally free but it will include classic and popular anime titles such as "Code Geass," "Psycho-Pass," and more. The channel will initially be open for US users only.

Crunchyroll and anime fans can alternatively enjoy free-to-download game titles made by Crunchyroll Games. This includes: Street Fighter: Duel, My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero, and the upcoming One Punch Man: World.
