Details of 'Ted' Series So Far

The upcoming "Ted" series brings the fans to a throwback as it will focus on Ted and John's early journey together. Back in 2012, the first "Ted" movie was released hinting a little backstory about the duo.

The seven-episode series is set in 1993 after Ted's fame as the talking bear has finally passed. "He's now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, along with John's parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach), and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham)," the official description read.

Seth MacFarlane serves as the writer, executive producer, director, and showrunner. He will be joined by Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh as the co-showrunners and executive producers. The series is produced under UCP, Fuzzy Door, and MRC.

'Ted' Series Retains Film Humor

The first "Ted" movie was released in 2012, despite its crude humor and age-appropriate themes, the movie became a box office hit with $550 million. A sequel was done in 2015 and was able to accumulate $215 million under Universal Pictures and MRC Films.

Despite years of stepping back from the "Ted" timeline, the trailer showed how it retained the type of humor the film was known for. Ted (MacFarlane) will be forced to attend high school with John (Max Burkholder). There he will teach to help his best friend catch up with his classmates.

The first episode of the series is described as "supersized" so it might take longer than the rest of the episodes. Meanwhile, the remaining six are going to run for 30 minutes each, according to Variety.
