With each improvement in its gaming capabilities, the latest batch of gaming phones suffer more and more from overheating and fast battery life issues.

This is because the components used are being overused to provide better graphics and resolution for high-demand games.

While phone makers assure that their products can adapt to higher temperatures, constant exposure to heat can still damage the phone's parts over time.

So, here are some hacks to reduce or fix the overheating in your gaming phones quickly:

Power Saving Mode & Gaming Mode

If you are using your phone's "Gaming Mode" while playing, it is sure to heat the device quickly.

This is because the function prioritizes gaming performance at the price of the battery draining quickly. You can actually see how much power and RAM the mode allocates to gaming in its pop-up tab.

It is recommended to only use the "Gaming Mode" sparingly, especially if you can still minimize the graphic settings of the game to low so it does not consume so much RAM and battery.

Turning on the "Power Saving Mode" can also save some battery life as it closes down unused apps and programs running in the background. It may also lower the phone's light to reduce power output.

Doing so may help the phone from not heating up as quickly as it did before.

Remove from Direct Sunlight and Clothing

Most smartphones and gaming phones work best in places with 32 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. So, it is no surprise if your phone immediately overheats when exposed to direct sunlight.

Longer exposure may also damage the device's components, so immediately move it to cooler locations all the time.

The same applies to phones buried in clothes or fabric. The clothing surrounding the phone may block the phone's airways and trap the heat inside the device. This sometimes includes phone cases.

Always ensure that your devices get proper ventilation if you need it to do more complex tasks, like playing high-performance games or opening multiple apps at the same time.

Portable Phone Coolers

If you have the budget, buying portable phone cooling fans is a good way to keep your devices from overheating even when in use.

Just like how cooling fans in a computer work, these phone coolers help expel more hot air from the phone. Some phones even have designated are for phone coolers even with the phone case equipped.

Fitting one in your device will allow you to enjoy gaming for longer hours without worrying about the annoying overheating.
