The Dark Souls and Elden Ring developer announced out of nowhere that it is adding a ranked matchmaking for the next patch coming out on Dec. 19, Tuesday.

New maps and AC load-outs will also be introduced for the competitive league.

For those hardcore gamers, they now have the chance to "carve your name" into the best-of-the-bests with its ranked leaderboard and nameplate personalization.

FromSoft has already teased what the maps will look like on the announcement trailers. No further information about the update was given.

Reasons to Play Armored Core VI

Unlike other FromSoftware titles, many players are hesitant to try the game out as most parts of the franchise are locked behind old consoles, many of which are hard to find now.

Footages from earlier installations show how vastly different the game is from the usual hack-and-slash formula seen in FromSoft's other famous titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Bloodborne, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls Trilogy, and Elden Ring.

However, Armored Core VI is a cut above its predecessors as elements from the developer's other beloved titles is integrated into the game in addition to its tried-and-tested fighting system.

These include the signature steep difficulty curve, parry, dodge, and melee weapons system fans have loved from FromSoftware.

For lore lovers, Fires of Rubicon is a great homage to the series while still having a somewhat understandable story for even new players.
