The dating app announced that it is expanding its premium membership after the selection batch last September.

Tinder's SELECT Membership have been sought-after by its most prominent users for a wide range of exclusive perks above the Tinder+, Tinder Gold, and Tinder Platinum tiers.

The announcement came after Tinder revealed that only 1% of its users were able to join the SELECT Membership.

To match up to the $6,000 per year price tag, Tinder is going all out on the SELECT subscription tier.

For one, members can message other users without matching first via the Likes Sent tab two times a week.

The messages come in with an unblurred profile of the member in their Likes You grid. The profile gets prioritized on the tab for seven days.

This also comes with the status to see and be seen by the app's "most sought-after profiles."

The subscription comes with a unique badge for the SELECT membership and turns off advertisements as it does with other subscription tiers.

Users will also be able to enjoy early access to new features currently under testing.

Tinder users will be able to join this tier after applying for the subscription and meeting Tinder's strict set of criteria.

Why are Dating Apps Offering High-Priced Membership

The arrival of Tinder's $500 per month subscription comes as more dating apps give space for users seeking serious relationships online.

According to a Pew Research Center study published in February, one in five adults in committed relationships said they found their significant other via dating apps.

This increase in the demand for dating apps has prompted other similar businesses to look for ways "to separate the serious, engaged users" from casual daters.

Tinder's parent company Match Group has also added a $999 weekly VIP for The League, a dating app for career-focused individuals, and a $50 monthly tier on Hinge.

Raya, another invite-only app used by many celebrities, also added a $50 monthly option to its subscription services.
