Microsoft has been reported to be integrating a new built-in recovery feature on the latest version of its OS after successful early tests, according to Windows Latest.

The "Fix Problems using Windows Update" can soon be accessed via the Recovery settings. The feature is already available to the Canary Channel beta users but is not working as of the moment.

What Files Can be Saved with Windows 11 Recovery Update?

User files are not the only data the new recovery update will be able to save once it rolls out to the public.

According to the blog post, Windows 11 will be able to save up user settings and apps.

It means all user preferences and custom settings will remain even after reinstalling Windows 11, a solution to a problem that has long plagued many users in the past.

Microsoft recommends that "devices may need to complete in-progress updates before this process takes effect."

Windows Latest expects the feature to be released as early as February or March next year with the Moment 5 update.

The recovery update is not the only feature Windows 11 users will be able to experience soon.

In the blog post, Microsoft announced that it will be updating its emoji features to "display richer emoji with a 3D-like appearance."

The emojis will be compatible with several apps and browsers supported by Microsoft.

The Microsoft Store will also receive a brand new overhaul with the introduction of more pricing information and a dedicated tab for AI software.

No exact date yet has been given as to when these features will be launched.
