Pro Valorant Player was Raided by Police Officer During Twitch Stream

Professional Valorant player, Som, got his family home swatted during his live stream on Twitch in the early hours of January 4.

Swatting has been one of the most common and dangerous pranks that have been done to streamers wherein viewers would tip the police of a non-existent crime, leading to the SWAT team involvement.

Professional Valorant Player Som Experiences Swatting Live

During the morning of January 4th, Som was streaming when a police officer armed with a shotgun cleared his bedroom. The clip was captured on his Twitch stream and the event happened when his family was sleeping.

The streamer quickly shared his thoughts on X, calling the prank "actually ridiculous." He also expressed that the person who did the prank is a "genuinely horrible person."

The gaming and streaming community quickly reacted to the situation as most of them can relate to it. Swatting has been an issue with streamers with one swatting incident leading to the death of an innocent bystander.

Dangerous Implications of Swatting

Streamers or not, swatting has serious dangerous implications for other people's lives. Previously, Twitch streamer QTCinderella opened up about her PTSD which developed due to constant swatting incidents at their home. She also detailed that swatting made her afraid of sleeping.

QTCinderella's boyfriend and co-streamer Ludwig revealed that his house was damaged due to multiple swatting incidents against them. Another Twitch streamer had her grandparents' house swatted as the perpetrator though she lived in the residence.

Police officers often go away after realizing that the swatting is a prank but it still occurs on a semi-regular basis, especially for popular live streamers. Regardless, it is still a traumatizing experience for the victims.
