Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Dominant Sales

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG that was initially launched in 2020. The game gained a Very Positive rating on Steam and introduced a new expansion called Phantom Liberty.

According to the reports, the expansion quickly sold three million units during its first week. Other factors such as positive feedback, the holiday period, and the sale of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, contributed to its new milestone.

Before the year ended, Cyberpunk 2077 had its lowest-ever discounted price on both PC and consoles, twice. This could have possibly boosted the sales of the DLC which is estimated to equate to 700,000 units sold within December.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty's Charm

Cyberpunk 2077's first and only expansion pack introduced a new district and new quests for players to discover. Phantom Liberty is set in a district called Dogtown which features new characters and adventures.

Moreover, there are also new weapons and vehicles in the game that were not included in the base game. Other skills were also added and even a new ending could be unlocked.

Currently, the base game has sold over 25 million lifetime sales as of October 2023. The Phantom Liberty DLC has an attachment rate of around 20%, meaning one in every five players of the base game bought the DLC after its release.
