Beeper Users Report Blocked iMessage on Mac Devices

Over the past few weeks, several Beeper users have been encountering the same issue with their Macs getting banned from iMessage entirely. Most of the time both the Beeper app and iMessage have become inaccessible.

A Reddit user tried to contact Apple support to report the problem. According to the post, the MacBook is not blocked but it cannot add any new devices as it has already "sent too many messages."

Meanwhile, it seems that the ban is currently working through Macs only as iPhone users do not seem to be affected, based on the reports.  Apple also has no official response as to whether it is really blocking devices that have used Beeper.

Beeper vs. Apple

Last December, Beeper made waves after successfully launching an app that reverse-engineered access to iMessage. The launch of Beeper Mini broke the wall between Apple and Android users.

However, Apple quickly responded and took action by shutting the app down. The company also made other efforts to continuously block Beeper's attempt to keep the app from working.

Apple previously argued that Beeper's method may pose significant security and privacy risks to its users. As of writing, Beeper Mini had been pulled out from the Play Store.

Other users have also thought of uninstalling the app due to its recurring problem. Regardless, its short-lived moments have allowed users to break through the walls of messaging apps.
