Meta CEO Claims Quest 3 Offers Better Service

After the much-awaited try-on, Zuckerberg shared his thoughts on Instagram about Meta Quest 3's rival. During his review, he shared that he had expectations already for Quest to be more of "better value" due to its performance and cheaper price tag.

The price for Quest 3 starts at $500 which is seven times less expensive than Vision Pro's $3,500 starting price. "But after using it, I don't just think Quest is the better value, I think Quest is the better product, period," the CEO shared.

Zuckerberg also hit at the major complaint about Vision Pro, which is its weight. The Quest 3 weighs only 515 grams while Vision Pro ranges from 600 to 650 grams. According to the CEO, the 100 grams or so weight comparison makes a big difference to the comfort level, especially to the face.

Zuckerberg Praises Meta Quest 3

Aside from comfort, Zuckerberg also previewed the capabilities of Meta Quest 3 by shooting the whole video review using the headset itself. Both devices have a feature called "passthrough" which allows non-wearers to see what the wearer is seeing through the cameras outside the device.

The CEO also presented that Quest 3 is perfect for multitasking with large digital screens floating in the space next to him.

"The reality is that every generation of computing has an open and a closed model, and yeah, in mobile, Apple's closed model won," he explained. However, the CEO shared his optimism that Meta's open model will persevere in the next generation and win out the customers.
